I am an enthusiastic, diligent and high-achieving Media Sales Manager who has spent the last ten years at Fairfax Media and News Corp Australia.

I owe my career success and achievements in life to the education I had as a young girl and teenager. This meant COUNTLESS hours and sessions with Alida Markovics at Academic Excellence. The study and tutoring I received complimented my education at Kambala Girls School. It allowed me have that one on one learning that I very much craved and needed. My personality gelled so beautifully with Alidas and her team, that they managed to help me achieve my goal of a UAI of over 90!! My whole family 15 years later, still cheer about this. I was able to go to UNSW and Michigan University and study Media and Communications. I even called on Alida to help me with my university studies.

It was such a pleasure in more recent times to bump into Alida after the launch of her incredible dynamic learning facility. It was certainly no surprise that her tutoring business is now soaring, providing a very wide range of resources, options and facilities for school children. What a nurturing and impressive environment!

“Alida and Academic Excellence was the difference between me wanting to get a specific mark in the HSC and getting that mark. English was always my weakness, and it was something no teacher had been able to fully correct. Alida was able to assist me in identifying my weaknesses, correcting them and then improving my marks as a whole. Not only did this help me in my English course, but it had a significant flow on effect in Business Studies, Modern History and Economics.

Alida and her team of tutors have worked with my children for many years. The end result was a clear uplift in standards. Aspects that needed fine tuning were addressed. Moreover, her subsequent knowledge of their strengths helped to identify the ideal subject selection for their senior years. The learning environment was fantastic and the extra support in the HSC year invaluable. I would highly recommend Academic Excellence to anyone with HSC aged children. Alida is more than a dedicated and highly skilled tutor. She is also a mentor and great motivational force for her students. She takes a genuine personal interest in helping her students achieve their best possible outcomes.

Alida is so much more than a tutor. Alida really understands the HSC regime through and through. She is able to apply this knowledge to help her students, so that they are learning, efficiently, the skills required to lead them to their personal best HSC results. Alida is also kind, caring and compassionate – she truly understands and responds to all the other mental health issues that arise in getting young people through what is a very stressful year. This empathy is extended to parents and she is always available to assist parents, sympathetically, through their own trials! In summary, I really cannot recommend Alida highly enough and have done so to many of my friends.

Isabelle’s experience at Academic Excellence was very rewarding and memorable. It is conveniently located in Vaucluse, close to her school so she was easily able to walk there every afternoon. The teachers and students provided a warm, welcoming and enriching environment full of students who are eager to learn and are heavily concentrating on the work ahead in order to achieve the best result. Academic Excellence is also a comfortable surrounding where the students not only came in for lessons but also to do homework as they are supplied with extra resources such as books and notes which would guide them through their studying process. The year 12 students were also provided with practice papers from a variety of different schools, in test conditions, challenging the student on all different levels. Academic Excellence was also highly involved in charity sporting events such as the “spin a thon”, where all the students and tutors had to cycle for 24 hours, (alternating times) as well as inviting students to weekly stress management seminars which targeted different areas of stress and anxiety that students might face as well as how to cope with stress which encouraged team based activity work bringing the students together. All of the tutors are very friendly and knowledgeable and were guiding Isabelle through the intense schooling period of the HSC. Every time she had a question it would happily be answered by any of the tutors at Academic Excellence as they made sure that she fully understood the question or statement before continuing with her work in order to improve and achieve the best result for Isabelle.

Alida Markovics runs Academic Excellence with true commitment through her passion for teaching and learning. She was always informing and supporting Isabelle and her deep understanding of children’s behaviour helped to make Isabelle confident in her studies and encourage her to confidently pursue her future endeavours.
